Tilden's Prairie Days Celebration Set To Begin On Friday

Tilden Prairie Days will feature fun events for the whole family, July 25-27.

This weekend's events include the popular Drag Your Nag contest, parade, fun run/walk, pie baking contest, street dance with music by The Rumbles and much, much more!

Here is a complete list of activities for Prairie Days:
Friday, July 25
9 a.m.-6 p.m. - 12th Annual "Pieces of the Prairie" Quilt Show - Lied Auditorium at the Tilden Public Library
3 p.m.-7 p.m. - Antique vendors - all over town, including near library, bus barn and city auditorium
3 p.m.-7 p.m. -Craft vendors - parish hall, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church 
3 p.m. - Food vendors open - located downtown
8 p.m.-midnight - Street dance featuring The Rumbles 

Saturday, July 26 
8:30-9:30 a.m. - "Best Pie on the Prairie" drop off at Bob's Bowling - The winning pie will be awarded $150, 1st runner up takes home $75, 2nd runner up will win $50, and 3rd runner up will walk away with $25! Winners will be announced at 2 p.m. under the big tent beside Old Buzzard Antiques. All remaining pie will be served at the "Best Pie on the Prairie" pie and ice cream social under the big tent from 2-4 p.m.....or until the pie runs out.

9 a.m.-5 p.m. - Craft vendors - parish hall, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church
9 a.m. - Antique vendors set up - all over town, including near library, bus barn and city auditorium
9 a.m. - Food vendors open - located downtown
9 a.m. - Antique Machinery Show - CVA parking lot
9 a.m .- NORFALCON Radio Control Airplane Show - Richie Ashburn Field
9-10:30 a.m. - Parade line up and judging - west of hospital 
10 a.m. - Car show check in - near new fire hall
11 a.m.-1 p.m. - Book signing - Renee Budde, author of “Cody: Life Lessons Inspired by My Spirited Mare” - Tilden Public Library
11 a.m. - Parade - starts at the hospital and travels down Main Street before heading south on Oak Street
1-4 p.m. - Show 'N Shine Car Show - door prizes every 15 minutes - near new fire hall
1 p.m. - TAPS Dance Studio performance - new fire hall
2-4 p.m. -  "Best Pie on the Prairie" pie and ice cream social under the big tent
1-4 p.m. - Kids' games and bounce houses - Richie Ashburn Field
4 p.m. - Ping Pong Ball Drop -Richie Ashburn Field
5-7 p.m. BBQ, sponsored by Tilden-Meadow Grove Community Foundation Fund & Elkhorn Valley 
School Foundation - in Hospital Park near hospital
7:30 p.m. - Drag Your Nag - Richie Ashburn Field
Following Drag Your nag - Labor Auction - Post Prom fundraiser - Richie Ashburn Field
9 p.m. - Broom Babes, a local group which makes music with creative items, including trash can lids and brooms - tennis court 
9 p.m.-Midnight - Teen Dance - tennis court 
Beer garden and music by Last Call DJ - Heroes Bar

Sunday, July 27
8 a.m. - Tilden Prairie Days 5K/10K Fun Run/Walk - starting at the corner of 2nd Street and Oak Street in Tilden (near the Tilden Legion Club and the Catholic Church)
8 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Pancake Feed - American Legion Post 170
9 a.m. - Music under the tent by Paul Siebert - downtown
9 a.m. - Antique vendors set up - all over town, including near library, bus barn and city auditorium
9 a.m. - Antique Machinery Show - CVA parking lot
9 a.m.-1 p.m. - Craft vendors - parish hall, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church
9 a.m.-3 p.m. - Food vendors - located downtown
9:30 a.m. - Community Church Service - under the tent downtown - seating is provided

12 p.m. - Nebraska-sanctioned Kid's Peddle Pull - ages 4-12 - Main Street
1:30 p.m. - Variety Show - Peace United Church of Christ
3 p.m. - Trunk Show - Pat Kuhns -  trunk show presentation of miniature quilts - Tilden Public Library
3 p.m. - Archery Target Shoot - youth archery for ages 8 and older - Elkhorn Valley Football Field
7 p.m. - John Petersen concert - Church of Christ
