Tilden Prairie Days Chili Cook-Off Planned On Saturday

It is time for the annual Tilden Prairie Days Chili Cook-Off!

The event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Tilden Legion Club.

The public is invited to sample chili from 5 to 7 p.m. for a free-will donation.

Entry forms are available at The Tilden Bank, Thriftway, PDQ, Tilden City Office, The Pit Stop or by clicking here. Entry forms and a $10 registration fee are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27; however, walk-ins are also welcome for a $15 fee. All entrants will receive a complimentary Prairie Days Chili Cook-Off T-Shirt. For more information, contact Silver Sibert at the Tilden city office, 402-368-2232.


Cook-Off Rules:

• Check in time begins at 3:00 p.m. 

• Must be checked in by 3:30 p.m.

• Judging will take place at 4:00 p.m.

• Judged winners will be announced at 5:30 p.m.; People’s Choice winners at 6:30 p.m. and Split The Pot at 7:00 p.m.

• Participants are encouraged to decorate their area

• A table & chair will be provided 

• Participants shall bring a minimum of approximately 2 gallons of chili (medium/8QT. crock pot size)

• Chili cook-off will be open to the public beginning at 5 p.m.

• Participants will serve the public test container amounts of chili

• Participants are to serve the public from 5 – 7 p.m. or until gone
