Tilden Legion Plans Annual Ribfest On September 19

Get ready for some lip-smacking, sauce-dripping, savory ribs! 

It's time for the 14th Annual Ribfest in Tilden, sponsored by Tilden Legion Post 170.

Ribfest will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Legion Hall. The bar will open at 9 a.m. and contest judging will begin at 4 p.m.

To enter the contest, call the Legion at 402-368-5370, text Marlene at 402-640-0592 or email the Legion at: [email protected]. Leave your name, complete address and phone number; and a form will be mailed to you.

Judges will pick the top 4 best tasting ribs. There will also be a people's choice on hors d'oevres, which attendees can begin eating at 1 p.m. Final voting will be at 4 p.m.

Ribs will be served from 5 p.m. until they are gone. Pick your ribs straight off the grill from the chef of your choice or get them inside. Meals will include pork BBQ ribs, beans, chips and bread and butter. The cost is $15 for adults and is "all you can eat on the premises." Kids ages 6-12 are $5 and ages 5 and under are free. Carry outs may be purchased at the gate.

In addition, there will be various prize drawings throughout the day; a football game will be shown outside; the Plainview Clown Band will play from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.; and Bob's Bounce Houses will be available from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. for a $5 admission.
