Petersen Signs Letter Of Intent For Doane College Wrestling

Chris Petersen signed a national letter of intent to wrestle for Doane College on Wednesday.

​The senior is the son of Bob and Tonya Petersen and will graduate from Elkhorn Valley in May.  He will be majoring in elementary education at Doane in the fall.

In addition to wrestling for the Doane Tigers, Petersen has also been accepted in the Hensen Leadership Program and choir program.  

“I am most excited about achieving my goals, short-term and long-term.  It’s truly a pleasure to be going to Doane. I love the wrestling coach and the choir director there. I am really involved in wrestling and choir here, and it was really important to me for that to be a good aspect in the college.”

Thad Dodd, athletic recruiter for Doane, said they are excited to have Petersen join the Doane family. 

“The first time I met Chris is when he came down for a visit and I was thoroughly impressed with him.  Chris is one of the best individuals I have ever met before in my life,” Dodd said. “He’s a great kid, great wrestler and a great singer.  We are really excited as a Doane family to have him come down in the fall.”
