PDQ In Tilden Under New Ownership, Now JB Mart

PDQ in Tilden will have a new look, and a new name to go along with the new owners.

Matt Jansen and Dave Baumert owns JB Mart in Wayne and Travel Plaza in West Point, and have now bought the gas station and café previously called PDQ.

John Baumert is a nephew to Matt Jansen and grandson to Dave Baumert, and is the manager of the new JB Mart.

John Baumert says that the changes they are making are for the customers. 

“To keep people happy,” Baumert said.  “That is our main goal.” 

They plan to keep the café as it is, but will make many other changes to the building.

“We painted the outside, we installed a unisex bathroom on the inside and are closing up the two bathrooms on the outside,” Baumert explained.  “We made quite a few changes that we think will make it work quite a bit better.” 

John Baumert was born in the area, but grew up traveling around with his military family.  

“I would only come up here otherwise to visit,” Baumert said.  “I never really lived here.”

Now, he plans to make this a permanent home, and plans to retire here someday.
