Pat Decker Recognized As 2015 Tilden Outstanding Citizen

Although Pat Decker isn't one for the spotlight, she is pleased to be the recipient of this year's Tilden Outstanding Citizen Award. 

"It's a nice honor," she said. "I just think you have to give back to your community, especially in small towns."
       
Decker is involved in a number of community groups including the church board and the housing authority board. She is a city council member and does “Meals on Wheels” as well as working as an insurance agent at County Line Insurance.

She believes her job is far from over. 

“I don’t intend to give it up any time soon,” Decker said.

To her, community involvement is very important and is something that every resident should take part in. 

“Everybody should take a turn doing at least one thing in their town,” she said.

Decker will be recognized this weekend at the annual Tilden Prairie Days by riding in a float. The award is sponsored annually by The Tilden Bank.

Decker was born and raised in Neligh but has spent the last 35 years as an active member in the Tilden community.

Decker has two children. Brandon Decker and his wife, Cindy, live in Tilden with their two young boys, Nate and Evan.

Her daughter, Tamora Luchini, and husband Clarence live in Sedalia, Mo., with their two grown sons, Karstan and Braxton.

Decker’s mother, Ruth Marsh, still resides in Neligh at The Willows Assisted Living.
