More Details Released On Human Remains Found Near Tilden

More details have been released on the human remains found near Tilden last month.

According Madison County Sheriff's Office Investigator Jon Downey, authorities have confirmed that the remains are that of a caucasian male, approximately 5-feet-7-inches of slight build. Downey said authorities believe the male was in early 20s, according to anthropological studies completed.

Downy said that while they are still pursuing DNA testing, they are continuing to look for missing persons. So far, none of the missing persons searched have been a match to the remains. Downy said that dental records have been completed, but no matches have been found yet. 

Authorities are currently trying to establish a DNA profile of the body and will be testing for DNA from bone samples.

So far, authorities said that they've been unable to determine a cause of death. The body remains at a crime lab where it is undergoing further testing.

Human remains were discovered near Tilden on Sunday, February 21, approximately one to two miles east of Tilden by hunters.
