Home Not So Sweet At Elkhorn Valley Homecoming Game

It was not the homecoming that the Elkhorn Valley Falcons had hoped for as they fell to the Allen Eagles 66-6.

The Eagles scored early and often, using a strong running attack to keep the Falcons on their heels. 

Allen jumped out to a 22-0 lead in the first quarter. They kept their foot on the gas in the second quarter, adding 30 points to their lead.

The Falcons were able to get on the board midway through the second quarter on a short Josh McFarland touchdown run. That play was set up by a deep completion from McFarland to Shawn Klinetobe on a trick play. McFarland would take over the quarterback duties full time in the second half after starter Koby Smith went down with an apparent knee injury.

The Falcons were unable to close the gap on the scoreboard the rest of the game, giving up 14 points in the third before both teams failed to score in the fourth quarter.

The loss drops the Falcons to 0-3 on the season. They hope to turn their fortunes around next week when they take on the Bloomfield Bees.
