Central Valley Ag in Tilden recently coordinated with members of the Niobrara and Verdigre communities to start a “fencing supply drive.”
Stephanie Thompson, CVA customer service specialist, said, “We wanted to do a specific thing — something that went along with our producers and something with agriculture.”
Three truckloads of supplies were taken to Knox County on March 23. Besides donated items, CVA bought two units of posts— 50 posts per unit.
“We had enough monetary donations to buy two more bundles of posts. And then the rest was donations. We had $935 in monetary donations and that was used to purchase items,” Thompson said.
Carhart Lumber donated a $300 feed bunk. Nearly $5,000 worth of items were donated, including 200 new creosote posts and 20 new rolls of wire.
