Falcons Hoping For Big Improvements In 2016-17 Season

2016-17 season preview: The Falcons will hit the court in 2016-17 hoping for a marked improvement over last season.

Coach Derric Werner fortunately returns a great deal of experience in 2016-17 after losing just one senior off of last season’s squad. 

Senior Tucker Hecht returns as the leading scorer and assist man for the Falcons after averaging 7.4 points per game and 2.5 assists per game in 2015-16. Fellow senior Koby Smith averaged 6.1 points per game while juniors Kalen Dittrich and Brayden Effle averaged 5.2 and 5.0 points per game, respectively.

Effle was also a strong rebounder last season, averaging 5.5 per game.

Hecht also was the top on-ball defender, averaging 2.2 steals a game in 2015-16. 

Elkhorn Valley look to get the season started strong when they take on Neligh-Oakdale on Friday, December 2.
