Falcons Have No Plans Of Slowing Down On The Court In '16

The Elkhorn Valley Falcons have spent most of coach Emily Vaughn's tenure on the winning side of things, and they hope for more of the same in her 17th season.

Coming off an 18-9 season, the Falcons hope to keep their winning ways and make a return to the state tournament in 2016. They return a large number of girls with starting experience, including Alyssa Rood and Hannah Ollendick, who accounted for 144 and 143 kills in 2015, respectively. Those two, combined with five other players with starting experience, give coach Vaughn a strong foundation to build on this season.

The Falcons begin their quest for the state playoffs September 1 as they travel to the Winside Triangular.

The Falcons return as much experience as anyone in the area. The combination of a talented senior class and experienced underclassmen will take Elkhorn Valley a long ways in 2016. Expect them to be a contender for a state tournament spot.
