Falcons Go 3-1 At Scribner-Snyder Invite, Now Above .500

It was a strong weekend for the Elkhorn Valley Falcons volleyball squad, as they came away with three wins from the Scribner-Snyder invite.

​The Falcons did record one loss as well at the invite at the hands of Ponca, losing 25-8 and 25-19.

In the match, Shelby Cakebread and Alyssa Rood led the way, bringing up five digs each.

Elkhorn Valley did not let the loss affect them too much. They rebounded to beat their other three opponents in straight sets.

Against the host school, Scribner-Snyder, the Falcons took the win 25-19 and 25-12.

Jasmine Wiese provided strong defense for Elkhorn Valley, bringing up 10 digs.  Offensively, Hannah Ollendick led the Falcons with five kills.

The Falcons also took on Winnebago, winning decisively 25-14 and 25-10.

Amber Miller was phenomenal for the Falcons against the Indians, bringing up nine digs, recording eight aces and providing two kills for the Elkhorn Valley attack.

The final matchup for the Falcons was against Oakland-Craig, a team that played the Falcons close before Elkhorn Valley pulled out the win 25-20 and 25-21.

It was a digging party for the Falcons, as the team recorded 59 digs in the match. Cakebread and Bri Werner were each credited with 13 digs, Rood brought up 11 digs and Miller was responsible for 10 digs.

The Falcons return to action Tuesday when the host the West Holt Huskies.
