Falcons Dominate CWC, Advance To Holiday Tournament Final

The Falcons will play for holiday tournament championship on Thursday after holding their opponent to just seven second-half points.

Elkhorn Valley dominated Chambers/Wheeler Central in the first round on Wednesday afternoon, winning 37-20. The Falcons held an 18-13 advantage at the half.

The Falcons were led on the night by Hannah Ollendick's 12 points, including hitting two of her four shots from beyond the arc. Alyssa Rood dropped in 10 as well for Elkhorn Valley. Both girls were also crucial under the rim, pulling in nine and six rebounds, respectively.

The Falcons will play the winner of the Clearwater-Orchard/Ewing game at 6 p.m. on Thursday in Clearwater.

The Elkhorn Valley boys dropped a 66-44 first-round game to CWC. They move onto 4:30 p.m. consolation against the loser of the Clearwater-Orchard/Ewing game.

Despite shooting 43 percent from the floor, the Falcons were unable to keep up with the high-powered offense of the Renegades. Austin Miller led the way with 17 points, including three three-pointers, while Kalen Dittrich added 11.
