Elkhorn Valley's Frey Places Fifth At State FBLA

Multiple awards were presented Saturday morning during the Nebraska State FBLA convention in Omaha.

Elkhorn Valley's Kimberly Frey placed fifth in business communication. She also seventh in database design and applications.

There were 549 students who competed in business communication, including Neligh-Oakdale's Rachel Higgins, who was one of 22 students recognized with honorable mention. 

​In business calculations, 374 competed. Higgins was one of 15 receiving honorable mention. In agribusiness, there were 230 competitors, and Neligh-Oakdale's Austin Rice was one of nine receiving honorable mention. 

The top three in each category qualify for nationals; however, those finishing below the top three may qualify for nationals based upon the availability of other students.
