Cyclones Sweep Falcons In First Round Of Holiday Tourney

The Clearwater-Orchard boys and girls teams each picked up a first-round win in the Cyclone Holiday Tournament in Clearwater on Monday night. 

Both Cyclone teams cruised past Elkhorn Valley with the O-C girls grabbing a 49-24 victory, and the boys earning a 79-40 win over the Falcons.

Whitney Rittscher led the Lady Cyclones with 17 points, followed by Sierra Schroeder and Mallory Cooper with 10 each. Sophomore Shelby Cakebread led the Lady Falcons with 7 points. Click here for complete game stats.

The O-C girls will play CWC in the championship game at 6 p.m. Tuesday, and the EV girls will play Ewing in the consolation at 3 p.m.

Cyclone Jagger Smith led all scorers in the boys game with 22 points, followed by teammates Andy Kerkman with 19 and Trevor Mlnarik with 17. Tyler Rautenberg led the way for the Falcons with 16 points, followed by Jayson Larson with 13. Click here for full game stats.

The O-C boys will play CWC in the championship match up at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, while the EV boys will play Ewing in the consolation game at 4:30 p.m.
