Authorities Identify Highway Worker Killed Near Tilden

Authorities have released the name of the highway worker killed near Tilden on Tuesday night.

Alejandro Banueldo-Flores, 59, was working for Werner Construction Co. on Hwy. 45 south of Tilden when a southbound vehicle driven by Roger Wynn, 66, of Meadow Grove struck him, according to Antelope County Attorney Joe Abler. The incident occurred at 7:25 p.m.

The cause of the crash is under investigation and U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is also investigating. No arrest has been made at this time. Criminal charges may be filed, if necessary, after review of all investigation reports, according to a press release from the Antelope County Sheriff's Department.

The Antelope and Madison County Sheriff's Departments responded, as did the Nebraska State Patrol.
