2016-17 In Review
State qualifiers: Dillon Stewart, Alejandro Martinez, Darren Stewart, Prestin Vondra, Josh McFarland, Brock Schaecher, Shawn Klinetobe

2017-18 season preview: Few teams have been as consistently dominant in recent years as coach Joey Tegeler’s Elkhorn Valley wrestling squad. With a large number of last year’s fifth place team coming back, expect the trend to continue.

The Falcons bring back six of the seven state qualifiers from last year in Darren Stewart, Prestin Vondra, Josh McFarland, Brock Schaecher, Shawn Klinetobe and Dillon Stewart, who became the third state champion in the school’s history.

With those six in the mix, the Falcons are already set up well for a new year. When you include a strong group of underclassmen, the Falcons could be building towards something special if all goes as it should. With another qualifier or two to state, a team title is not out of the question.
