Warriors Unable To Keep Up In Games Against O'Neill

The chilly drive to O'Neill proved to have far from ideal results for Neligh-Oakdale fans and players.

Both boys and girls fell at the hands of the Eagles in their Monday night battles. The girls got off to a great start, matching the Eagles shot for shot to head into break trailing just 28-26. However, they were unable to keep up the scoring while O'Neill never slowed down, especially in the third quarter where the Eagles outscored the Lady Warriors 25-9. In the end, Neligh-Oakdale fell 70-45.

Paige Furstenau and Bailey Frey led the way with 14 points each. Trinity Kurpgeweit and Haley Kerkman each added five points in the loss. Kerkman and Kurpgeweit also led the way under the net, with five and four rebonds, respectively.

The boys game was a near mirror image of the first game, as the Warriors did most of their scoring in the second half. However, the high-powered O'Neill offense remained consistent throughout the game, handing Neligh-Oakdale a 68-32 loss.
