Warriors Split Final Home Games With Battle Creek

Neligh-Oakdale once again had an entertaining night of basketball, as the girls gave Battle Creek quite a challenge while the Braves put the Neligh-Oakdale boys on the ropes.

To start the night, the girls challenged Battle Creek all throughout the first half before the Braves were able to pull away in the second half of action in a 60-28 Battle Creek victory. The Warriors trailed just 24-16 at the halftime break, but only could muster 12 points in the second half. 

Alexis Jensen put together one of her best offensive games all season, dropping in 14 points, including hitting 2-of-5 shots from beyond the arc. She also pulled down five rebounds and dished out two assists. Bailey Frey added eight points. Jayda Chance was strong on the glass, pulling in 10 rebounds on the night.

In the second half of the night, Neligh-Oakdale had to complete a double-digit comeback in order to claim a 71-61 victory over the Braves. The Warriors trailed 20-5 after the first quarter of play but exploded to a 27-point second quarter to take a 32-29 lead into the halftime break. Battle Creek battled back in the third quarter to make it a one-point game going into the final frame, but the Warriors were able to pull away, winning the fourth quarter 25-14.

Grant White hit five of his shots from downtown on his way to a team-high 27 points. Tyson Belitz added 23 points and Alex Kerkman dropped in 11. Austin Rice was strong under the net, pulling down eight rebounds. Belitz and Chris Bentley dished out six and four assists, respectively and White came away with five steals.
