Warriors Host Norfolk Catholic In Home Dual Friday

Sunshine finally welcomed the Warrior golfers on Friday afternoon as they hosted Norfolk Catholic in a dual meet at the Antelope Country Club.

"It was nice to see the sun," Coach Ron Beacom said. "We are starting to strike the ball much better. As we grow as golfers, we'll start to score a little better as well."

Norfolk Catholic carded a 176 to win the dual over Neligh-Oakdale, who scored 202 as a team. Junior Austin Rice led the Warriors with a 42, finishing 3rd individually. Other N-O varsity golfers were Neven Kline 49, Garret Belitz 53, Caleb Payne 58 and Brock Kester 68. Trey Svatos and Colby Sehi also competed as part of the B team, shooting a 70 and 79, respectively.

"Our course management is still a little rough," he said. "It's hard to recover from a big score on a hole when there are only 9 holes altogether. Consequently, we have played some really good golf at times and not had it reflect in our overall score."
