Warrior Teams Battle Braves Tuesday Night

The Warriors and Braves battled it out in Battle Creek on Tuesday night.

Battle Creek defended its home court and came away with both wins. The Bravettes downed the Lady Warriors, 66-27, and the BC boys defeated the Warriors, 52-26.

In the girls game, Battle Creek forced 28 turnovers and capitalized on them. The Bravettes took a big lead early in the contest, dominating the N-O girls, 22-6, by the end of the first quarter. The Lady Warriors struggled to get an offense going, and a running clock sped things up in the fourth quarter.

Bailey Frey led the team with 9 points, followed by Paige Furstenau and Trinity Kurpgeweit with 4 apiece, Brooke Frey and Haley Kerkman with 3 each, and Jaclynn Hixson with 2.

In boys action, Neligh-Oakdale traded buckets with Battle Creek in the first quarter, trailing by just 1 point heading into the second. The Braves came out firing before the half, putting up 16 points, while holding the Warriors to just 4. Battle Creek continued to roll in the second half and eventually put the game out of reach for the N-O boys.

Nate Buck led the way for the Warriors with 9 points, followed by Cole Belitz with 8, Austin Rice 6, and Hunter Charf 3.
