Three-Time District Champ Wins Triple Jump For State Berth

An EPPJ senior is returning to the state track meet in the triple jump after winning the event for her third straight district championship.

Lydia Behnk earned the gold and qualified for state during the D-5 District track meet held at Rock County High School in Bassett on Wednesday. She leaped 34 feet 7 inches for first place in the district.

The Nebraska State Track Meet will be held on Friday, May 18 and Saturday, May 19 at Omaha Burke Stadium. The girls triple jump is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
