2017 season preview: Elgin Public/Pope John’s girls track team will be a deep squad led by a 2016 state qualifier.
Lydia Behnk will lead the way after qualifying for state in both the long jump and triple jump as a sophomore. She finished 22nd in the long jump and 12th in the triple jump and will look to continue to improve in 2017.

A number of other girls just barely missed a spot at state last year, including Paige Meis and Anna Heilhecker.

EPPJ starts the season March 27 at Fullerton.
