2017 season preview: Elgin Public/Pope John returns to the golf course in 2017 with plenty of experience under it’s belt.

Coach Trent Ostransky returns Miles Schrage, a state qualifier in 2016. At state, Schrage finished 77th in Class C with a two-day total of 196.

The Wolfpack also return senior Chad Bode, who qualified for state as a freshman when EPPJ qualified as a team as well as during his sophomore season when he qualified individually. In that sophomore year, Bode finished tied for 23rd in the field with a 174. 

Also returning are Hunter Reestman and Liam Heithoff, two of the Wolfpack’s top-five golfers in 2016. They will look to join Schrage and Bode at state this season. 

The fifth spot will be up for grabs between Cade Heithoff, Tom Morrow, Cole Preister and Hayes Miller.

The Wolfpack will first hit the course on April 4 when they head to Summerland in Ewing.
