Orchard Slips By Ewing, Advancing To Peewee Quarterfinals

With a 3-0 lead in the fifth inning, Ewing put the scare into Orchard in the second round of the Quad County Tournament in Neligh.

Orchard opened the game with two runs in the first by Cody Wickersham and Sam Cheatum. Jason Shaver added a third run in the fourth inning to put Orchard up 3-0.

With their at-bat, Ewing came out swinging as with an RBI triple to make it a 3-2 game. Cheatum left the mound due to his pitch count and Ryan Reifer closed out the game with a strikeout. 

Orchard advances to the quarterfinals against Battle Creek at 6 p.m. on Thursday in Riverside Park. Ewing will play O'Neill at 6 p.m.on Tuesday.
