Neligh Seniors Down Madison In Just Five Innings

After taking their first loss of the season last week, the Neligh Seniors bounced back in a dominant way, taking down Madison 11-2 in just five innings of work. 

Clayton Anderson got the start on the bump, easily working through the Madison lineup. In three innings of work, he gave up just one hit, striking out four and walking two. In the fourth, Jordon Murray came in to close the game out, adding four more strikeouts while allowing two runs on two hits.

Offensively, Neligh saw little challenge from the Madison pitching staff, racking up nine hits while scoring 11. Through the first two innings alone, Neligh plated five before scoring six more in the final two frames. Their base running was on point all night as they racked up an incredible 17 stolen bases to keep Madison on their heels.

Anderson helped his own cause in the win, going 1-2 and scoring a run. Tyson Belitz and Hunter Reestman each scored two runs on the night to lead the Neligh offense. Damon Arehart drove in two runs. As a team, Neligh only gave up four strikeouts to the Madison pitchers. 

The Neligh Juniors will continue to rest this week as the Seniors will be back in action on Thursday when the host Randolph at Riverside Park.
