Junior High Warrior Wrestling Competes In Plainview

While the high schoolers are just getting started on the mat in preparation for the 2017-18 season, Neligh-Oakdale's Junior High has been putting in plenty of work, including at Plainview.

The Warriors traveled to Plainview to battle a number of teams on Thursday, coming home with plenty to be proud of.

NOJH was led on the day by a first place finish from Ty Rix. He navigated the 116 pound bracket for the win. He took a major decision over Plainview's Seth Tunender, 14-6. He then pinned his next three opponents, including Tom Burbach of Crofton in the finals to take home the win.

Aiden Kuester had a big day as well, taking second at 145 pounds. He started the day with two pins, making his way to the championship match. He ultimately fell in the title round to Osmond's Alex Vinson 10-1.

Austin Rudolf rounded out the Junior Warrior medalists, taking second at 104 pounds. He fell to Elkhorn Valley's Reed Bennett before battling back with two wins to end the day.

Carson Whitesel went 2-2 on the day at 93 pounds, Gavin Longsdorf went 1-2 at 122 pounds and Ethan Gregory went 1-2 at 165 pounds.
