Falcons, Warriors Yet Again Champions In Neligh

This may sound a bit familiar, but Neligh-Oakdale’s boys and Elkhorn Valley’s girls took first on Tuesday in Neligh.
For the second week in a row, the Warriors and Falcons earned the team championships at Warrior Field, this time for the Neligh-Oakdale Invite. 

The Warrior boys led the seven-team field with a score of 140. The were led by first-place finishes from Damon Arehart, Tyson Belitz and Alex Kerkman. They finished the day with 22 total medals.

The Elkhorn Valley boys finished with 106.5 points, good for third. Dylan Wilkins, Brayden Effle, Tyler Miller and Austin Miller all took first place on the day. The Falcons totalled 17 medals at the meet.

Elgin Public/Pope John earned 15 team points on the way to sixth place. While they didn’t have any champions on the day, the did bring home five medals.

On the girls side of things, Elkhorn Valley’s 135 points gave them a comforable first-place finish over the field. Alyssa Rood, Sierra Rystrom, Amber Miller, Hannah Ollendick and the 3200 relay team all took first. The Falcons totalled 19 medals. 

Neligh-Oakdale took second, finishing with 99 points. Emma Bixler, the 400 meter relay team and Kristen Snodgrass were all individual champions. The Warriors earned 23 medals on the day.

Elgin Public/Pope John rode its 75 point day to a fourth-place finish. Lydia Behnk and Kaylee Martinsen were champions in their events. The Wolfpack totalled 16 medals, including three in the 400 meter dash alone.
