Falcons Unable To Complete Comeback In Losses To Bees

Elkhorn Valley's weekend didn't go quite as planned as they came up short in two games against Bloomfield on Saturday.

To start the day, the girls went head-to-head in a high-scoring affair. Despite connecting on 42 percent of their shots, the Falcons were unable to overcome a 29-22 deficit as they fell to the Bees 58-54.

Amber Miller did all she could for the Falcons, hitting nine of her 15 shots for 21 points, pulling in five rebounds and dishing out three assists. Hannah Ollendick added nine points and eight rebounds while Olivia Nall and Shelby Cakebread accounted for eight points each.

In the boys game, it was a similar story as the Falcons trailed 25-21 at the break. However, an 18-16 fourth quarter in favor of Elkhorn Valley was not enough to complete the comeback as they fell 54-50.

Tucker Hecht had a huge game, particularly from downtown. He scored a game-high 14 points, hitting four of his five shots from 3-point land. He also did some of the dirty work under the rim for the Falcons, pulling in six rebounds, dishing out four assists and coming away with two steals. 

Austin Miller also reached double figures, scoring 10 points and hitting two shots from beyond the arc. Brayden Effle pulled in eight rebounds and Dalton Smutny dished out five assists.
