Falcon Boys Post Two Double-Doubles In Win

The Elkhorn Valley boys picked up their third win of the season Tuesday night thanks to impressive performances by two of their most consistent players. 

Brayden Effle and Tucker Hecht each recorded double-doubles in the Falcons' 46-32 win over Wausa. Outside of allowing an 11-point first quarter, Elkhorn Valley held the Vikings to less than 10 points each quarter in the win. The Falcons shot 38 percent on the night while the Vikings managed just 27 percent from the floor.

Effle recorded his second double-double of the year, dropping in 10 points and pulling in 14 rebounds. Hecht added 12 points and hauled in 10 rebounds. Both players also dished out three assists to lead the Falcons.

Austin Miller added 10 points, including hitting three shots from beyond the arc, and Kalen Dittrich added nine.

Earlier in the night, the girls also took down Wausa, pulling away in the second half on the way to a 54-41 win. 

Hannah Ollendick and Alyssa Rood each came within a rebound of posting double-doubles of their own. Ollendick led the Falcons with 17 points and pulled in nine boards. Rood added 15 on 6-of-9 shooting while also bringing in nine rebounds. Freshman Olivia Nall posted her best game of the year, adding 10 points on 57 percent shooting.
