EV, Crofton Conclude Seasons At Districts

Both the Elkhorn Valley and Crofton girls golf teams wrapped up their seasons at Monday's C-3 District Tournament at Norfolk Country Club.

Battle Creek won the team district title with a score of 426. Norfolk Catholic was second, Hartington Cedar Catholic was third and West Holt was fourth. All four teams qualified for next week's state tournament.

Anna Kassmeier of Norfolk Catholic won a three-way playoff against Ireland Billoft of HCC and Sydney Erickson of Pierce to claim the individual district title.

The Lady Falcons placed eighth as a team with a team score of 543.

Crofton's Delayne Sudbeck placed 15th individually. EV senior Kimberly Frey led the Lady Falcons with a 25th-place finish.

Other EV placers included Erica Brown in 35th, Journey Werner in 43rd, Angel Qualset in 44th and Kristy Nierodzik in 54th.

​The state girls golf tournament begins Monday and wraps up Tuesday at North Platte.
