Eight Warrior Youth Wrestlers Medal At State

​14 Neligh-Oakdale wrestlers made the trip to Grand Island for the Nebraska USA State Folkstyle Wrestling meet, with eight coming home with hardware. 

Aiden Kuester and Cason Hoefer were each state champions in their respective classes. Austin Rudolf took runner-up, as did Andrew Herley, who made the trip in the high school divisions. Macoy Martensen took third.  Sam Hemenway and Colton Klabenes took seventh and Tanner Martensen took eighth. In the girls-only division, Gracie Longsdorf took sixth. 

As a team, the Warriors finished 33rd out of the 226 teams in attendance. 

Kuester’s performance was particularly impressive, as his win qualified him for the Nebraska dual team. He will represent the state in Council Bluffs, Iowa on April 14-15. 

For Clearwater-Orchard, Keaton Thiele made the trek and represented his team well. He finished 3-2 on the day and took fifth.
