Cyclones, Wolfpack, Falcons Compete At O'Neill

Three Antelope County track teams snuck another meet in this week before Mother Nature threw them another snowstorm. Clearwater/Orchard, Elgin Public/Pope John and Elkhorn Valley all competed Thursday at the O'Neill Invite in the second division.

Brooklyn Chipps led the Cyclones with a gold medal in the shot put and was third in discus. Jacob Long picked up three individual medals with second-place finishes in both the high jump and triple jump, along with fourth place in the shot put. Rounding out top-three places was Chris Kester with second in the pole vault and Huston Marino on the 200.

The Falcons had a gold medalist in Amber Miller in the pole vault. Miller also was fifth in the long jump. Kolton Krick was third in the 100 and fifth in the 200 while Brandon Effle was second in the 110 hurdles and third in the 300 hurdles.

Leading the Wolfpack was Lydia Behnk, who won the triple jump and was third in the long jump. Kaylee Martinsen finished third in the high jump. EPPJ was also second in the 4x400 and third in the 4x100.
