Cyclones Earn Big Sweep Over Ewing Tuesday Night

On a snowy Tuesday night, the Cyclones left Ewing out in the cold, sweeping the Tigers to bring home two wins.

The boys got their second-straight win in dominating fashion. Clearwater-Orchard held Ewing to just 19 points in the game, nearly matching that total in the second quarter alone with 18 points. The Cyclones never let off the gas on the way to a 56-19 win. 

Three Cyclones reached double figures on the night, led by Chris Kester. He finished with 16 points on 4-of-9 shooting, including three makes from deep. Blake Hoke added 13 points while Travis Kerkman dropped in 12.

Liam Odell led O-C under the net, pulling in five rebounds. Defensively, Hoke and Kester each came away with four steals.

Earlier in the night, the girls got back on the winning track, taking down Ewing in a much closer affair, 49-36. Entering the final quarter of play, the Cyclones led just 27-24 but they exploded with a 22 point fourth quarter to secure the win. 

Katie Stearns was excellent on the night, leading the Cyclones with 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Kylie Thiele added 11 while Kinzly Macke and Brooklynn Chipps added nine and eight, respectively. 

Macke led O-C on the glass with eight rebounds while Allee Snider pulled in seven and Thiele added five.
