Cyclones Dominate In Second Round Of NVC Tourney

It didn't take long for Clearwater-Orchard fans to realize their boys had secured a spot in the Niobrara Valley Conference semifinals.

After getting a first-round bye, the Cyclones took on Stuart on Tuesday in Clearwater, dominating the first half en route to a 56-23 win. The Cyclones held the Broncos to just two points in each of the first two quarters, all while racking up 32 points of their own. 

Clearwater-Orchard's offense was hitting on all cylinders, shooting 51 percent as a team. Jacob Long lit up the scoreboard often, finishing with a game-high 14 points. Blake Hoke did work as well, finishing with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting. Ryan Wilhelm missed just one shot as he racked up eight points while Chris Kester and Liam Odell finished with seven points each. 

​Kester was plenty busy distributing the ball also, dishing out five assists. Long led the way on the boards, pulling in eight rebounds.

The Cyclones will take on Boyd County on Thursday in Neligh. Tip off is set for 4:30 p.m.
