Cyclone Basketball Posts Split With Plainview

Coming off of a rough holiday tournament, the Clearwater-Orchard girls and boys were in need of a win. Fortunately for the girls, they got just that Tuesday night when they traveled to Plainview. 

The Cyclones took down the Pirates in a tight matchup, 32-27. At the break, O-C trailed 14-13 and managed a 20-18 lead after three. In the fourth, the Cyclones outscored Plainview 12-9 to squeak out the win.

As a team, the Cyclones managed to shoot just 35 percent on the night. However, Kinzly Macke was excellent from the field, dropping in 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting. She nearly posted a double-double as well, adding nine rebounds and coming away with five steals. Allee Snider pulled in seven rebounds of her own on the night.

In the boys game, the Cyclones were unable to hold on to their first quarter lead, falling 66-49. O-C led 18-12 after one, but was outscored 54-31 for the remainder of the game. 

Ryan Wilhelm dropped in 10 points, Travis Kerkman and Liam Odell added nine and Jacob Long dropped in seven. Kerkman, Long and Blake Hoke each posted six rebounds on the night as well.
