Clearwater-Orchard Goes 1-1 Over The Weekend

Clearwater-Orchard's volleyball girls didn't spend much time lounging around this weekend as they had a couple of battles on Saturday.

The Cyclones went 1-1 in two games on Saturday, topping St. Mary's 25-7 and 25-19 but falling to North Central 21-25, 25-23, 9-25.

The Cyclones dominated the young St. Mary's squad, winning in straight sets while allowing just 26 total points. A number of girls posted great numbers in the matchup, led by Taylor Sanne's four aces. Grace Rittscher added three more aces, Julian Tuttle put down two and Brooke Knievel added one more. 

Tuttle did plenty to spread the ball around with 15 assists, most of which went to JoCee Johnston as part of her nine kills. Johnston was also more than solid defensively, recording six blocks. 

Against North Central, it proved to be a bit more challenging in the three-set showdown. Tuttle once again controlled the flow of the offense with her 27 assists. Johnston got the bulk of the kills with 12, while Brooklynn Chipps and Avery Cheatum recorded six and five kills, respectively. Katie Stearns added four more kills and Allison Kerkman was responsible for two.
