One person was life-flighted following a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of Highways 14 and 20 on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Antelope County Sheriff's Department, a 2013 Chevy Equinox driven by 25-year-old Tyrell J. Hinton was on Highway 14 going south when it failed to yield the right away and pulled out in front of a 2005 Chrysler 300 that was eastbound on Highway 20.
Hinton was ejected during the accident and life-flighted to CHI Health Immanuel in Sioux City.
Danny D. Petersen Sr., 48, was driving the Chrysler 300 with passenger Carmen M. Petersen, 51. Neligh-Oakdale Jaw of Life removed the driver from the vehicle. Both occupants were transported to Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh and one was later transported to an Omaha hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
The accident remains under investigation by the Antelope County Sheriff’s Department with reconstruction assistance by the Nebraska State Patrol and Neligh Police Department. Also responding were fire departments from Royal, Orchard, Brunswick and Neligh, as well as rescue squads from Orchard and Neligh.
The Nebraska Department of Transportation also assisted with traffic.
