UPDATE: Cory Wettlaufer, Amanda Makovicka Missing Case

It's been nearly a week since anyone has been in contact with Cory Wettlaufer, 33 of Inman, and Amanda Makovicka, 31 of Orchard.

According to the Antelope County Sheriff's Office on Saturday, they have not received any information to indicate the search is not still ongoing. Sheriff Bob Moore was unavailable for comment.

When & WhereThey Were Last Seen
Makovicka and Wettlaufer  were last seen Saturday, Jan. 4, in Inman. The vehicle Wettlaufer was last seen driving was found at the Cory Wettlaufer residence in Inman on Jan. 6. Makovicka and Wettlaufer were not found at the residence by Sheriff's Deputies. The vehicle was impounded at the scene and towed to a secure facility.

On Jan. 9, an individual reported having contact with Wettlaufer on Jan. 5 at 5:30 p.m. on 865 Road and 495 Ave. Wettlaufer was driving a white 1997 GMC Blazer with the license plate 36-K20. A female matching Makovicka's description was in the passenger seat, according to officials.

Wettlaufer told the motorist he had run out of gas. The motorist observed that the vehicle was running but gave Wettlaufer 1.5 gallons of gas. Wettlaufer reportedly then drove east toward Inman.

Multiple Agencies Searching
The Antelope County Sheriff's Office, Holt County Sheriff's Office, Nebraska State Patrol and Civil Air Patrol have assisted in the search. The Civil Air Patrol was concentrating on back roads in Antelope County and was expected to continue searching with two planes on Jan. 11.
