Two Champions Highlight Big Weekend For O-C SkillsUSA

As they have grown accustomed to, Clearwater-Orchard's SkillsUSA competitors traveled to the state competition and came home with plenty of hardware.

Nineteen students from Clearwater-Orchard made their way to Grand Island's Heartland Event Center and competed in events varying from Early Childhood Education to Welding Fabrication, State-Only Prepared Speech, Crime Scene Investigation, Cabinet Making, Drone Basics, Customer Service, Nurses Assisting, Cosmetology, Job Interview and Quiz Bowl.

Two state champions led the way for O-C. Alyssa Moser took first place in Customer Service while Nalleli Zermeno took first in State-Only Prepared speech. Moser's first-place finish qualifies her for the SkillsUSA National Conference in Louisville, Ky. in June. 

O-C also had multiple runner-up finishers on the weekend. Erin Schwager took second in State-Only Prepared Speech while the team of Liam Odell, Andrew Steskal and Travis Rudloff took silver in Crime Scene Investigation. 

Rounding out the medalists for O-C was Ashley Williams who took third in Early Childhood Education.
