People Enjoy An Array Of Orchard Celebration Days Activities

On the final day of Orchard Celebration Days on Sunday, children and adults took part in a wide variety of games and meals. 

Many people started the day off with delicious eats at the pancake feed by the Volunteer Firemen at the Orchard Fire Hall.

Later, at 3 p.m., the "Seasons in the Sun" parade took place. And after the parade, cow pie bingo, kids games, a bounce house/water slide, bingo and root beer floats, water balloon launch and an opening of the District 57 One-Room Schoolhouse all started at 4 p.m. 

Squares were marked and a cow was released in cow pie bingo.

However, in under a minute, the cow already decided the winner – Riker Ferguson, who won $100. There were a total of 100 bingo squares purchased for $10 each. Money from the event went to Orchard's baseball and softball programs. 

​Downtown, the Historical Society held kids games, which included multiple activities such as bag toss, putting, face painting and train rides.

For $5, kids received wristbands for unlimited fun. When playing games, they earned tickets, and 10 tickets earned them a prize.

Some of the prizes were a coupon for a free ice cream cone from Sugarz, a coupon for a free slushie from Dusty’s, Orchard Bucks, candy and duck whistles. The kids games lasted until 7:30 p.m. 

Kids also jumped around and went down a water slide in two bounce houses located by the Orchard Fire Hall until 7 p.m.

At Rex Theater, people could play bingo and enjoy refreshing root beer floats until 7:30 p.m.

Additionally, people were able to view pieces of educational history at the District 57 One-Room Schoolhouse until 7:30 p.m.
