Over 100 People Register For OYMC Co-Ed Cornhole Tourney

The duo of Josh and Ashly Brabec tossed its way to first place out of 59 registered teams in the fourth annual OYMC Co-Ed Cornhole Tourney on Saturday in Orchard. 

The team that landed in second place included Tate and Kari Heiss, and Austin and Sara Twibell finished in third. 

The first-place team won a cash prize of $600, second place earned $400 and third received $200. 

Registration and competition took place on the second day of "Seasons in the Sun" Orchard Celebration. Teams started signing up at 4 p.m. and paid $30 for registration. 

The tournament began with a round-robin, in which four teams played one another in three games to 15. To win, pairs had to win by two points.

From there, each team with the best record out of the four moved on to a regular, single-elimination bracket tournament.

Additionally, a Calcutta was held during the cornhole competition.  

Winners of the Calcutta were Josh Brabec in first, $1,200, Anthony Williby in second, $750, and Shane Schwager in third, $500.
