As many know, Orchard Public Schools has implemented the Nebraska Beef in Schools Program, and thanks to monetary donations from many businesses and individuals and the generous donation of our first critter by the Ickes families, this program is up and running, providing home-raised Nebraska beef to our students.
Now it is time to work toward acquiring a second critter for our program. We are looking for local ranchers who feed fat cattle who might be willing to donate a critter or even give us a cut rate on one. We also have an area rancher who is willing to feed a critter out and sell it at cost, so if anyone is willing to purchase a critter for our program, that would be another option. If you are interested in assisting our program via any of these options, please contact Cathy Cooper at [email protected] or at school (402) 893-3215. We certainly appreciate all of the support we have received so far! |
