Orchard Road Rally To Raise Funds For Alzheimer's Research

A Road Rally is planned in Orchard on Sunday, Aug. 24 as a fundraiser for Alzheimer's Awareness and Research. 

Registrations will be taken from 1 to 3 p.m. at TJ's Market parking lot. The cost is $25 per vehicle. All proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer's Awareness & Research project, in memory of Marvin Johnson. 
 
What is a "road rally?"

It's a "road" game of following directions, clues and "I Spy." All ages are welcome to participate. Following the rally there will be a light supper for a free-will donation at the Double D Saloon (formerly J-B Lounge) on Main Street in Orchard. Prizes and winners will be announced at this time. 

The K-7 Buckaroos (Marvin Johnson's family), who is sponsoring the road rally, participated in the End ALZ walk in Norfolk last year coming in 2nd place with donation totals. 

"A very special thank you to the area businesses that made donations last year and for your continued support," Darla Hauf said. "The 2014 Alzheimer's walk in Norfolk has been set for September 14."
