Orchard Pool Closes After A Great Summer

Yesterday was the last day to enjoy a swim at the Orchard Pool, as it closed for the season after a long summer of fun. 

Although most pools closed last weekend, right before school got starting, the Orchard Pool wanted to give kids some extra days of summer.

Anita Tabbert, the assistant pool director, was present to oversee the last week of pool activities. 

"I think it's great for the kids to have the pool for the first week of school," said Tabbert. "Instead of school starting and it being like, 'Oh, school's here that's the end of your summer!' kids can go to school and come to pool afterwards."

Tabbert, who has been the assistant director for two years, says that when her son was in pre-school a couple years ago they would come to the pool right after school got out. 

Although the Orchard Pool didn't have as much attendance this week as other weeks, Tabbert said that the kids who did come enjoyed themselves a lot, and that it was definitely worth it. 

Now that the pool is closing for the season, Tabbert said she can look back to a great summer. 

"Thanks to everyone who came out, including the neighboring communities," said Tabbert. "We had a wonderful staff and it was great seeing all the children. We look forward to seeing you again next year."
