Orchard Library Honors Late Drayton With Makerspace

The Orchard Public Library is saddened by the passing of long time Board Member, Martha Drayton. In honor of Martha’s long years of support and service to the Library we will be putting in a Makerspace in her honor. To be named “Martha’s Markerspace,” this will be a cupboard to hold games, puzzles and legos, and other educational entertainment for the patrons. If anyone wants to donate, please make your checks out to the Orchard Library Foundation, with Martha’s Makerspace in memo area.

This is a busy month for the Orchard Public Library. On the 27th and 28th, we will be participating in the Bargain-By-Way at 8 am on Friday and Saturday. We have lots of books looking for a new home, and we also have light covers for a shop light type fixture, plus other items.

The Orchard Public Library Foundation and the Town & Country Club are asking everyone to please save your UPC labels from all Best Choice Products. The money raised will go into the Orchard Library Foundation for future projects and continuing upkeep of the Orchard Public Library. UPC’s can be dropped off at the Library anytime during Library Hour. Thank you.

Lots of new books have gone on the shelf for your reading pleasure. “The Fix” & “End Game” by David Baldacci, “Deep Freeze” by John Sandford; the Games Bible by Leigh Anderson, in Juvenile we have Einstein the Class Hamster and the Very Real Game Show by Jake Tashjian and The Day The Mustache Took Over by Alan Kratz. Hello Lighthouse by Sophie Blackhall in easy books. And for those people that want to do some gardening, when the weather lets you, that is, we have beds and borders, design ideas for gardens large and small. Don’t forget that we have OverDrive to help those who are unable to make it down to the Library. Hoping the weather will soon improve so you can be out enjoying it.
