Orchard Days Brings Cornhole Tournament Back

The annual Orchard celebration days is coming quickly and with it the third annual corn hole tournament presented by the Orchard Young Men’s Club.

The corn hole tournament has been an exciting event that brings many to join in on the fun. When it began three years ago, the OYMC wanted to become involved in the community celebration. The corn hole tournament then became a great addition to the Orchard Celebration Days in which everyone can participate in.

“It’s something different to bring to the table,” said Austin Twibell, OYMC member.

While the corn hole tournament offers some friendly competition, it also provides a great way to gather with friends.

However, the corn hole tournament is not the only event the OYMC is in charge of. The group also provides the entertainment on Saturday night and a few guys from the group are also in charge of the road rally on Friday night.

“We are just trying to improve the town of Orchard and get involved,” said Twibell.

While the major goal of the group is to build a community center for the town, the group would also like to see people move back especially the younger generation.

To enter the corn hole tournament the cost is $30 a team. Each team must have two people and out of highschool to participate. Registration begins at noon under the tent. Cash prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
