OC Wrestlers Finish 5th, Wolfpack 8th At Howells Invite

With six medalists, Clearwater-Orchard finished fifth on Saturday at the Howells Invite. Elgin Public/Pope John placed eigth and had four medalists.

Dominic Bolling led the Cyclones by winning the 170-pound division while Clay Thiele and Zach Hoffmann finished runner-up at 182 and 285, respectively.

Bolling defeated Dylan Horejsi of Howells-Dodge 4-1 in the championship. Thiele was pinned by Michael Hegge of Ponca in 1:06. Hoffmann went 3-of-4 on the day and lost to Cole Rosenkrans of St. Mary`s 6-4 in a tiebreaker.

Codey Snider finished fifth at 170 by pinning Eric Hoesing of Hartington Cedar Catholic in 4:32. James Kester placed eighth at 120 pounds and was pinned by Colby Harney of Clarkson-Leigh in 1:25. Jaccob Bennett finished eighth at 195 and lost by fall at 1:10 to Peyton Cone of Archbishop Bergan. 

For the Wolfpack, brothers Logan and Luke Henn both finished runner-up. At 120 pounds, Logan Henn was pinned at 4:49 by Justin Jeanette of Millard South. At 126 pounds, Luke Henn dropped 11-5 decision to Blake Smith of Millard South.

At 132 pounds, Geoffrey Carr placed third after pinning Jadyn Smeal of Scribner-Snyder in 2:03. At 106 pounds, Corey Romej finished fifth. He went 1-of-5 on the day and defeated Lucan Hillard with a 4-1 decision.
