OC Seventh-Grader Places 7th At State Geography Bee

A Clearwater-Orchard seventh-grader placed in the top 10 at the state geography bee last week.

Jacob Behnk, son of Jerry and Patti Behnk, finished in 7th place at the Nebraska Sate Geography Bee held at UNO last Friday.  Jacob and 99 other students qualified for the state competition, where he answered 8 out of 8 questions correctly and qualified for the finals where he beat out 3 of the top ten to finish seventh. 

Mr. Jim Schutt, Jacob's teacher sponsor, accompanied him to Omaha for the competition.  Jacob will be eligible to compete for next year's contest as an 8th grader.
