Moser Takes Home Top Actress Honors At NVC One Acts

Clearwater-Orchard presented their rendition of "Freak!" Tuesday at the Niobrara Valley Conference East One-Act Competition in Tilden. 

The play, written by Angela Hill, tells the powerful story of a girl who wants to escape from being bullied from being different. However, escaping doesn't feel like she thought it would.

Heaven Smith played the main character for Clearwater-Orchard. 

Throughout the play, she encounters various characters such as Sissy, played by Allison Kerkman. She also meets Bella, Damien, Lilly and Twyla, played by Ti any Peed, Ira Lampert, Alyssa Beed and Alona Zermeno.

Jaiden Switzer played Benny while Erin Scwager and Ashley Williams played twins Flora and Fauna.

Kitty is played by Faith Woslager, Squeaky is played by Julian Tuttle, Alyssa Moser played Maniacal Max and Grace Rittscher performed It. 

The three fortune tellers were Jaqueline Olivan, Nalleli Zermeno and Lauren Behnk.

Adrian Love played Vivan and Taylor Bolling performed as Jane Doe.

Behind the scenes, Jennifer Hickman, Emma Kerkman, Calissa Kester, Spencer Kester, Dillon Moser and Tessa Peed were the crew that helped keep the play moving.

Sarah Kesting and Emily Heithoff directed for ClearwaterOrchard.

Many Clearwater-Orchard actors and actresses were honored for their performances on the night. Allison Kerkman, Tiffany Peed, Ira Lampert, Alyssa Beed, Faith Woslager, Alyssa Moser, Grace Rittscher, Adrian Love and Heaven Smith were all awarded as Outstanding Actors.

Moser also took home the top overall actress award for her portrayal of Maniacal Max.

As a team, Clearwater-Orchard  finished fourth out of the eight teams in attendance.

Pope John took top honors with their rendition of " The Perils of LuLu."

Neligh-Oakdale, Ewing, Elgin Public, Niobrara, Verdigre and Elkhorn Valley were also at the event.
